Over 40 years of changing lives

Inicio, formerly known as ERS Training and Development Corporation, is a Montreal-based, federally incorporated not-for-profit organization with charitable status, established in 1990.

Since its inception, Inicio has successfully operated over 200 employability training and professional development programs for Montreal residents and continues to support participants in order to help them reach their full potential.

Its mission is to identify and promote employment readiness skills and personal training and development among youth and other qualifying and/or deserving individuals through the implementation of programs, activities, and/or services which will enhance their employability and assist them in achieving their full potential. Since 2007, Inicio has received funding from Services Québec (formerly Emploi Québec) to provide employability training programs. The Projet de préparation à l’emploi (PPE), still continues, and is open to all residents of Montreal. The purpose of the program is to assist structurally unemployed anglophone or allophone participants in improving their life circumstances by providing activities such as technology literacy, French conversation, job search skills, and personal development workshops.
